Winner! Winner! RadLab Dinner! & Miniaturizing Photos

Hi Everyone! I know you must have been going in circles this crazy iNSD weekend! I know I didn't get online as much as I'd liked... and *gasp* I didn't get to scrap! I was out of the house much of the weekend, and I'm just sitting down now! I did make some purchases - Thank Goodness for my iPad - and can't wait to add it to my To Be Scrapped With Overflowing Folder!

First up tonight is a Miniaturizing Tutorial. I originally created this for Chelle's Creations in August of last year, and just getting around to posting it on my blog. I'm hoping to do this with the over 50 that I have in my folder to share on here!

Here we go - super simple.

Step 1: Open your photo in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Save as a new file. This way the original will be available if you need it.

Step 2: Choose the Quick Mask Mode. It is the little box with a circle under the Foreground and Background Color boxes.

Step 3: Choose the Gradient Tool. On the sub menu, click on the reflective gradient (3rd box), and also make sure that Reverse is checked. You can use any of these that fit your picture though.

Step 4: Select the part of the photo that will be the miniaturized portion. To do this, click, and drag up. Let go when you feel you have a good space that will be mini. After I let go, my image gets the red gradient mask. The portion that doesn’t have as much red will not be blurred as much.

Step 5: Click the Quick Mask Mode to turn off the red, and you will see marching ants marching on your photo.

Step 6: Click on Filter > Blur > Lens Blur. A large screen will pop up, showing all the options that you can play with. When doing this type of photo, I used the Invert and Radius (below). Play with them, and see what you like for your photo.

Here is what my photo looks like now:

Super simple, and makes the landscape/buildings pop. Give it a try!

OK. OK.... and onto why you are here!  The RadLab Giveaway!  Yes.... Dun Dun Dun Duuuuuuunnnnn... and the winner chosen was... COUPON! COUPON! :)

For what you ask?  RadLab, of course!  Lol!  :)

I bought RadLab over a year ago, and my photos never looked the same - they looked way better, awesome even!  And I'm not even a great photographer!  My everyday snaps and click turned into drap too dark, too light, blah photos... Not anymore!  With RadLab - I get great looking photos! Every.Single.Time!  Really.

As most know... I'm a digital scrapper, and I've had so many fellow scrappers ask about using RadLab. Using Photoshop is totally different for the scrapper than for those that are professional photographers. It really appeals to many scrappers for our everyday photos, so quick, and so versatile. RadLab makes our everyday ordinary somewhat plain photos pop and look wonderful for our scrapbooks. I know RadLab doesn't mainly target scrapbookers - but it is a great niche all of us that are non-professional photo takers, including myself.

I thought it would be fun to offer a discount to my fellow scrappers... so if you go and purchase RadLab, use the code TYPATIVE to get a 15% discount off of the $99 price. Now, this is a great deal!  Especially since it was about $50 more when I purchased it!!

I'd love to see some of your before and after shots and share your recipe with me!  I enjoy saving my recipes as I go, so that all of the photos on my layout have that cohesive  look and color across the board. Super simple!

Every single digital scrapbook page in the last year has been edited using RadLab. It is named Totally Rad for a reason, lol! You can check out my galleries at ScrapMatters and Scrap Orchard to see all of my images!

Just think.... 75 different photo editing actions done in under 2 minutes... and then you get to customize each and every option. Add warmth, add a touch of black and white, give it a sun flare, remove an orange cast, add an aqua tone, sharpen it up and to top it off add an antique look. All in a few clicks. Really. Trust me... that super simple!

Use the TYPATIVE coupon code to get your 15% discount today!
It is totally worth it!

I might have something else up my sleeve, but I'll come back and share that later on! Promise... tutorial is next up!  How about.... Artistic Filters or a fun way to Mimc Instagram in Photoshop!?

Thanks for stopping by!

A Quick Hello... and A Re-Start...

Starting slowly... and probably randomly.... I'm planning on posting 1-2 times a month... tutorials, tips, random scrap pages, maybe a recipe or two... and then some RadLab before and afters.

I hope all is going well with everyone else that lives on their computers!  It is finally starting to get more springlike here in the Northeast - I love it. Just a few more weeks and it will be beautiful!

Just a quick post about a recent before and after using RadLab. RadLab is an awesome pre-set that you use with Photoshop and Photoshop Elements to edit your photos. It is about 75 actions done in about a minute! Not one at a time, all of them!  Pick and choose what you like and your done!

Here is my before and after...
and my layout with the same picture... linked to SO for full credits. It uses digital products from Scrapping with Liz, Happy Scrap Girl, and a Scrap Orchard Mega kit.

It is perfect for what I wanted... and totally matches the kit colors, lol!
You should try the 30 version of RadLab for free: http://www.gettotallyrad.com/radvocates/jrox.php?id=1349

Next up... a tutorial!  That will be up towards the end of the month!

Should I continue?

Hi everyone.... it's been a long time. Wondering if I should continue to post tutorials here for a one stop shop sort of thing?  I have many from the last year posted on Chelle's Creations blog, the Scrap Orchard University, as well as the monthly newsletter at ScrapMatters!  There are so many.... lol!

Hope everyone is doing well out there!
Deciding what to do...
